Dr Pei Huang Rehabilitation Physician (MBBS) trained in Sydney with the Australian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (College of Physician) and has 20 years clinical experience in multiple medical disciplines. She works as a rehabilitation staff specialist in a public hospital as well as VMO at Sunnybank Private Hospital.
Dr Huang obtained her PhD in Medicine in 2008 from the University of Sydney and is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland. She completed 3 years surgical training in Sydney and worked as a vascular ultrasound sonographer for 2 years.
Dr Huang’s background in rehabilitation, surgery and vascular ultrasound provides her a unique perspective in diagnosis and treatment of physical and functional disorders involving neuromuscular and musculosketal system. An example of this is her work related to diabetic foot management in which she uses multidisciplinary team approach in treatment of wound, reducing edema, and using orthotic or modified footwear to prevent injury. She has a special interests in ultrasound guided injection in the management of chronic pain and using botulinum toxin injection to treat spasticity post-stroke.
